Since Heat is blocking the Lung Qi from circulating properly, herbs to open the Lungs are necessary; that also provide a mild Tonify Qi function.

It is important to restore the Lung Qi which has been weakened by the invasion of Wind-Heat or by overuse (lecturing, etc.) Included herbs strengthen the Lungs without heating or drying them out. They also help contain and stabilize the Lung Qi.

This formula is not a Lung Yin Tonic. For a true Yin Deficiency cough, different herbs would be necessary. This formula will still help with dryness and coughing, but it would not correct the underlying condition of Yin Deficiency.
