PMCID: PMC4306384 PMID: 25650336 Bitter melon treatment of 3T3-L1 cells resulted in a decreased lipid accumulation and significantly decreased intracellular triglyceride amount compared to untreated control cells. Moreover, bitter melon reduced lipid accumulation during differentiation from a preadipocyte to an adipocyte and downregulated PPARγ.

Tongue: Thin, no coating or peeled
Pulse: Weak, rapid
Suggested Dosage: 2-10 capsules per day taken with meals. A typical course would be to start by taking 1 capsule in the morning and the evening for the first week. Increase to include noontime dosage the second week and subsequently increase capsules by one at each time interval until desired results are achieved.
